Oh my, this is actually the most beautiful thing I own in my makeup kit! Just look at it, everything about it screams luxe from the snazzy album style sleeve to the huge pans full of beautiful product. Like most bloggers I was sucked into this by the hype but it's actually 100% worth it. Yes, it's pricey £39 is a lot of money to spend on a product with only 4 shades but the size is incredible and the product is amazing! I feel like I need to give a shout out to Beauty Bay here too, the delivery time is unbelievable. I ordered this about half 6 and it came at 10 the next morning - free delivery too!
I decided to go for the Anastasia Beverly Hill Glow Kit in Gleam  because I am quite pale and thought these shades would suit me more but the other shade - That Glow looks absolutely beautiful too. The four shades in this palette are Hard Candy, Mimosa, Crushed Pearl and Starburst and each one is perfect for a different job. My favourite shade altogether has to be Starburst as it just compliments my skin tome beautifully but I love all the shades for different reasons.
Hard Candy is a similar shade to Champagne Pop (review here) and it essential for a golden, bronzey look. I'll definitely get a lot of wear out of this in the summer. Mimosa is again a bronzey, gold shade and I like to use this under my brow bone when I'm sporting a bronze smokey eye. This is probably my least favourite shade but I still use it - that shows how much I love the palette. Crushed Pearl is a typical high light and looks beautiful in the inner corner, brow bone and cupids bow. It's less shimmery than Starburst which means it's perfect for areas where you want the highlight to look 'natural'. Finally, Starburst is the most obvious highlight from the palette but definitely needed. I love this when i'm wearing a natural, no makeup look (you can see my routine here) as it gives the nicest, glow.

Lip Liners to Make Your Lips Look Bigger

Nude Lip Liners - Mac, Charlotte Tilbury, RimmelNude Lip Liners - Mac, Charlotte Tilbury, Rimmel
Nude Lip Liners - Mac, Charlotte Tilbury, Rimmel
The bigger, full lips trend has been around for a while now and it's showing no signs of disappearing. Not a day goes by when I don't have a browse on Facebook and see someone else with surgically enhanced lips. I like the look of bigger lips like most people but I neither have the money or pain thresh hold to do something about it. That is until I discoverd nude lip liners! I've picked four of my favourites, three are high end and one is drug store so there's a range for everyone.
Rimmel East End Snob £3.99 - just look at the price. There's so many posts about this being a dupe for Mac's Whirl/Soar and I have to agree. It's slightly darker than my naturally pink lips which means it's perfect for achieving a bigger pout. I use this to line my actual lips and then 'drag' the top lip up ever so slightly. This is the creamiest lip liner out of them and doesn't pull at the lips.
Mac Barely Bold and Soar £12.50 - Barely Bold is the most like my lip colour, it has just been exaggerated slightly. This one is perfect for more brown lips - think Velvet Teddy. Soar is a beautiful pinky nude that is loved by every man and his dog. These are pretty expensive but I have a few Mac Lip pencils in my collection and they really are worth it, they are long lasting, wearable and add longevity to almost any lipstick.
Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk £16 - The most expensive lip liner I own and probably the best. The Lip Cheats claim to resize and reshape your lips and this nude shade does just that. Similar to the Rimmel lip liner I use this to slightly draw over my natural lip line, it's a beautiful colour which is definitely similar to my lip colour. This is creamy and hydrating and feels really nice on the lips! If you had to buy just one lip liner I'd say this is the best.
Tips For Making Your Lips Appear Bigger
1) Use a contour colour under the middle part of your bottom lip. This adds shadow to your lip area and makes your lips look fuller.
2) Use a highlight shade on your cupids bow. This attracts the light and this time makes the top lip look fuller.
3) Powder the centre of your lips (if using a matte lipstick).
4) Use a glossy shade right in the middle of your top and bottom lip.

The Power of Makeup

I've seen this tag floating around the YouTube world for a while now and I'm addicted to watching them. I love the concept as there's so much drama surrounding why women wear makeup. I personally wear it because I love it, there is nothing better than creating a look you absolutely love and transforming your image. Yes I don't like to go out without makeup but it's definitely not because I want to 'impress people'.
There are so many memes and tweets that really hit the nail on the head - I don't buy 75 mac lipsticks to impress a boy who can't tell the difference between Ruby Woo and Faux. This is too true, I buy lipsticks to make me feel more confident and to change up my look. I'm not going to go into the makeup I wore here because I'm going to do a whole post on it but I just wanted to share this with you. If you feel like you want to join me then please tweet me (@studentstyle) or comment your links to the post below! I'd love to see them

Big Boots Haul

Big Boots Haul

Big Boots Haul

Big Boots Haul
I haven't had a big Boots splurge in ages so this was definitely brewing. I didn't go cray cray because I have done a lot of shopping recently but I did pick up a few bits and bobs. This is probably going to be my last haul for a while as I am putting myself on a spending ban until half term!
First up I've joined The Wet Brush (£11.99) hype, i've heard so many good reviews about these brushes so I had to try it (for the blog obvs). I have pretty long hair and it gets knotty so so easily, my hairdresser hates washing my hair as it always gets tangled in the sink so she recommended me this. I picked the beautiful floral design and I can't wait to try it properly. The other item I got that isn't make up was the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pad (£12.99)s which are basically exfoliating pads for your face. I saw Jamie Genevieve talking about these and saying how good they are and was seriously tempted. I've been exfoliating my skin so much recently and seeing a massive improvement so I'm hoping these will help improve my skin.
Makeup wise I wanted to try products that I'm missing from my collection such as a blemish concealer and brow gel. I headed straight to the Rimmel stand which is probably my favourite brand in my local boots. I picked up the Clear Brow Gel (£3.99), Highlighting Brow Pencil (£4.99), Kate Nude Lipstick in 48 (£5.49) and the Kate Contour Kit in Coral Glow (£4.99). It was 3 for 2 so I couldn't resist adding a few more bits than a brow gel into my basket. If you're following my Instagram (studentstylexo) you will know I'm loving highlighter so I was instantly drawn to the brow bone pencil. Again, the contour kit drew me in because I want to try a cheaper alternative and the blush shade in this is gorgeous. I'm also loving browny nude lipsticks and want to try a more hydrating version of Gerard Cosmetics Iced Mocha and this looked like quite a good match.
I picked up two bits from Seventeen as they had a buy one get one half price offer on. I wanted a new eyeshadow palette and the Easy on the Eye (£7.99)palette is just beautiful. It's a mix of shimmers, mattes, powders and creams which is really interesting for a drug store palette. I got sucked in by the offer and picked up the Let's Face It (£7.99) face palette which 2 concealers, a cream blush and a setting powder. It's a brilliant palette for travelling but it's one of those things that I don't know why I bought it. I have everything in it already! Finally I picked up a Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£3.99) I have mentioned so many times that I don't get on with this concealer but I really want to. I'm hoping now that my skin has changed slightly it might work better for me. Every blogger loves it and I need to understand the hype!

Liquid Lipstick Collection

Liquid lipstick collection ft Too Faced, NYX, Sephora, Kat Von D, Hourglass and Gerard Cosmetics

Liquid lipstick collection ft Too Faced, NYX, Sephora, Kat Von D, Hourglass and Gerard Cosmetics
Liquid Lipstick Collection - ft hourglass, too faced, sephora, kat von d, nyx, gerard cosmetics
Liquid Lipsticks are everywhere at the minute - you would have to live under a rock not to have noticed these cropping up from every brand lately. I seem to have gained a rather nice collection with a range from drug store and high end brands. I think I'm going for either nudes or brights without anything in between and right now, I quite like it. I can't say I see a huge niche for a baby pink liquid lipstick but when I do at least I'll know the brands to try.
I'll start with the two drug store offerings - NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu and Gerard Cosmetics in Serenity.  The NYX Butter Gloss is the most hydrating of the selection but that's because technically it isn't a liquid lipstick - with a couple of coats this looks as pigmented as most of these. It's a beautiful nude colour which rivals any Kylie Jenner type colour. The Gerard Cosmetics hydra matte lipstick is the most drying of them all but again the colour is a gorgeous nudey pink. For £9.50 this is a bargain but make sure you apply a lip balm before! I also have 2 Sephora Matte Lip Creams which are pretty cheap too. I love both colours; Always Red and Madarin Muse, they are so bright and last forever. The orange shade is slightly more drying than the red and seems to flake a little after eating but again a lip balm sorts this problem straight away.
Moving on to higher end liquid lipsticks and I have 2 of the Too Faced Melted lipsticks again in bright colours. A beautiful orangey coral, Melted Coral and a bright pink in Melted Fuschia. These are my favourite formulas and personally I don't think they get enough credit. They are ridiculously pigmented, last forever and aren't drying in the slightest. These are my favourite to wear in the summer because once you've applied them you don't have to think about them again. Similar to the Sephora lip creams is the Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick in Outlaw. I love this, it's a bright red and lasts forever. I tend to use this with a lip liner so it doesn't bleed and that makes it last longer. It isn't too drying and doesn't flake during wear. Lastly is the Hourglass Opaque Rouge in Ballet which again is a bright pink. I wear this with the matching lip liner which means it literally lasts all day! It's one of the least drying too, it actually feels quite hydrating on the lips.

Youtubers I Love

I thought i'd share the love a little bit today and tell you about some of my favourite people to watch on Youtube. I've been watching people on youtube for about 2 years now and still love it. I've gone from watching mainly beauty vloggers to a mixture of makeup advice/tips etc and weekly/daily vlogs. Obviously, I love the more mainstream youtubers like Lily Pebbles, Vivianna Does Makeup, Hello October etc but today i'm going to talk about smaller but just as good youtubers.

Beauty||
Hello April - Lets start by saying April seems the most down to Earth person ever! I've been following April on twitter for a while and when she first started Youtube I subscribed straight away. There's a mixture of beauty and vlogs with the main focus being on reviews and hauls. Whenever there's a new video in my subscription box I have to watch it instantly.

Lucieleannexo - Lucie is my latest addition to my subscription and again I found her channel after following each other on Twitter. I love her mixture of beauty videos and her first impressions video make me instantly want to go shopping. I love Lucie's most recent video about the Power of Makeup!

Just Jodes - I'm not sure how I managed to stumble on Jodie's channel but I'm so pleased I did. She has the most infectious personality ever, everything she says I want to join her. Her monthly Primark hauls are slightly dangerous and her beauty videos are a perfect mixture of drug store and high end products. She seems like such a lovely girl and it's nice to watch her channel grow.

Vlogging||
Fayes Fix - Faye is someone I've been watching for years now, her channel has changed slightly over the years and is now more vlog based. I feel like we have such a lot in common as in every vlog she is doing something similar to what I have done. She is very down to Earth and you can see that she enjoys sharing her life on the internet as she's always replying to comments etc.

Brogan Tatexo - Another Youtuber who I've watched for so long, way before the now famous weekly vlogs! I love how real Brogan is, there are weeks when the vlogs are amazing and full of cool, exciting things and then some where Brogan reflects the struggles of 'adult life'. It's actually refreshing to see someone who shares their life on the internet and isn't all perfect and wonderful. Monday nights are made for Brogan's vlogs.

The Michalaks - I couldn't do a youtubers I love video without inclduing these guys. Yes they have more subscribers than the others but surely it doesn't matter. They consistently put out beautiful, well edited content every week. Watching their family change and grow is so lovely, I found Hannah before they became a family of three and it's so nice to see Grayson turn into the little boy he is now. Sundays are not complete without a Michalak session

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Foundation || Review

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Foundation - Light

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Foundation - Light
Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Foundation Swatch
Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Foundation - natural light and no filters
Now that Spring has officially sprung it's time to update our makeup bags! Apart from lip colours, the first thing I change is my foundation. In the colder months I tend to go towards fuller coverage foundations but when it's warmer I look for Tinted Moisturisers and light coverage foundations. When I saw the email from Urban Decay promoting their summer releases I was instantly drawn to the Naked Skin One & Done Foundation (£25). They also have a Summer Bronzer and some highlighting and powder shades.
First off, the packaging is a tube style that comes with a pump, it takes a little while to get the product pumped out when you first use it. I tipped the tube up and pressed it a few times and had no problems. I've seen a few people say it messed up their tubes so just be careful. The first time I used this I applied concealer before hand. I love the idea of a tinted moisturiser but sometimes in reality it isn't always perfect! I needn't have bothered though, this actually gives a really nice coverage whilst still looking natural. It evens out the skin tone and then I go back in with half a pump for any blemishes.
This lasts for the day and doesn't fade in any areas. The only small problem I have is that it gets a little shiny after several hours wear. This is nothing a bit of powder wouldn't sort out but definitely keep it in mind if you're looking at this for your holiday foundation. I went for the shade Light, out of the 6 shades this one looked about right. It isn't too yellow or too pink toned - it's the perfect natural tone for my pale skin.
