I've seen so many people talking about Makeup Geek Eyeshadows that when I realised they were being stocked on Beauty Bay I knew I had to pick some up (hauled here). I decided on 4 fairly neutral shades to start with but now i've tried them I'm definitely going to be picking up some more daring shades.
At £4.95 these are much cheaper than Mac shadows and I really can't see much difference in quality, pigmentation and application. All of the shadows I picked are really pigmented, sometimes lighter shades like Shimma Shimma aren't as pigmented as others and you have to apply it about 7 times to even show. Cosmopolitan is a beautiful orangey, copper shade that looks gorgeous with a soft, matte brown in the crease. Homecoming reminds me slightly of Urban Decay's Sidecar, its a shimmery, golden, brown - perfect for a smoky eye. Finally Drama Queen is a a deep, shimmery purple which looks beautiful worn on the outer corner for a purple smoky eye.
All of these shades are really blendable and creamy. They last all day with an eye shadow primer underneath or a cream shadow worn as a base, The fallout is hardly any which is another positive point. I really can't say enough positive things about these shadows. The Z Palette (£8.95) is the perfect place to store these eyeshadow pans. The small one holds 9 shadows and feels pretty sturdy. Again, it's much cheaper than the offerings for Mac, even if you can't switch from Mac to Makeup Geek shadows at least swap to the Z Palette, it's definitely much prettier!
