Lush Haul featuring #HBAlPorto

Lush Haul
Yesterday I attended the Hull Bloggers meet at Al Porto situated on Hull Marina. It was an absolutely fantastic day catching up with old friends and making new ones but I have a whole post dedicated to the meet coming soon. Today I thought i'd share with you some of the Lush products I got yesterday during the demonstrations by the lovely staff at Lush Hull.

Firstly, the big blue tub is Rub Rub Rub a body scrub that smells delightful. I had to buy this after one of the ladies gave my new friend Ashton a beautiful exfoliating hand massage using this. The smell was definitely what drew me to it but after seeing and feeling the difference in Ashton's hands I was sold. I'm hoping to do a more in depth review after I've used this. Next, is the hyped up Comforter Shower Gel i'm actually cheating because I bought this in Leeds last week but I thought id include it. It smells exactly like you'd imagine; sweet and comforting! I can't wait to use this on those dark, cold nights where you come home from work, jump in the shower and spend the night in your pjs!

On to the 3 treats I received in the amazing goodie bags (FYI we each had 3 of them!) First up is a small tub of Don't Look At Me face mask, I've never heard of this so i'm excited to try it tonight. Next is Green Fun which is a complete all rounder product. I actually bought the Blue one for my boyfriend last Christmas but it melted before he had time to properly use it. Finally a bubble bar - Granny Takes A Dip. I've seen lots of people instagram this and it smells delicious.

The last 3 products I picked up at the Bloggers Event mainly because Ashton was thee world's best enabler! I picked up The Experimenter which is the dream, just look at it. Apparently it has a Christmassy scent which is perfect for me. Rose Jam is a bubbleroon which I haven't heard of but again look how blooming cute it looks. I love anything pink and glittery so this is right up my street. Finally a product that grabbed my attention immediately, I've been suffering with really dry hands and the fantastic sales ladies really sold this to me. Golden Handshake is a hot hand mask with the most delicious ingredients! Again, I'm hoping to review this once I've used it.

Top 5 Hourglass Cosmetics Products

Top 5 Hourglass Cosmetics Products
Hourglass Veil Mineral  Primer // Ambient Lighting Powder - Ethereal Light // Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil // Ambient Lighting Blush Palette // Ambient Lighting Powder Palette //

As you may know by now I'm a bit of an Hourglass addict (you can see my recent posts here 1/2/3). After falling in love with their products in January I've managed to build up my collection so much that I can do my whole face just using Hourglass products and I love it! That being said, it takes a while to build up a collection because of the price so I thought i'd share with you my 5 must haves.

A primer is an essential in all makeup bags I think and this is the best I've ever tried. Yes it is pricey but it's so good that you could afford to use any foundation on top of these because it keeps everything in place. My mum describes it like putting Angel Delight on your face, it's so soft and soothing. This is definitely the first thing I'd recommend anyone to buy! The Ambient Lighting Powders are a multi-use product which means you really get your moneys worth. I mainly use mine as a setting powder all over my face but recently I've started using it as more of a highlight. It's the prefect product to do a little day time appropriate strobing.

Brows are the be all and end all for me, I never leave the house without something in my brows and this is perfect. It has a brush on one end and a slanted tip on the other (Hourglass have just released 6 new shades FYI). The slanted tip makes this the easiest brow pencil to apply. I'm hoping to do an updated Brow Routine post very soon so keep your eyes peeled. Who doesn't love a blusher and when you have a beautiful limited edition palette in front of you you can't say no! All 3 shades are beautiful, my favourite is the middle Incandescent Electra. Because they are hand made the marble effect is different on every palette, which means the colours look slightly different on everyone  (I've reviewed it in depth here).

The Ambient Lighting Powder Palette is the next thing I would say you definitely need from Hourglass after the primer. The 3 shades do such a good job at adding colour, warmth and depth to your face. I use the first shade all over for a warm glow, the second shade as a highlight and the last shades as a contour. It looks so natural and healthy; me, my mum and my sister all have these and they just make such a difference to your makeup.

So these are my top 5 recommendations but like I said I love everything! I'm thinking of doing an Hourglass Collection post so if you'd like to see that comment below or tweet me @studentstylexo

Life Update

Long time no blog! It's been about 6 months since I actually sat down and wrote a blog post which is crazy. I must admit I've missed blogging and the interactions that come with it but I've just been so busy I've not had time to think about it too much.

Since my last post I've finished my NQT year (it was hard but definitely worth it) and i'm now enjoying the fourth week of my 7 weeks off! Now I can't promise that this blog will continue once term starts in September but instead of shutting my blog down I'm hoping to keep it going and post as and when I can. That being said, posts will be going up whenever I have chance but hopefully you will still enjoy them.

I'm always active on social media so i'll leave my links in case you fancy a student-stylexo fix!
