Autumn & Winter Lipsticks 2014

Autumn & Winter Lipsticks 2014  Autumn & Winter Lipsticks 2014 Autumn & Winter Lipsticks 2014 It's that time again were the leaves start to fall off the trees and the nights are long, dark and cold. As much as i've just painted a miserable picture, it does also mean that it's my favourite season for makeup. The biggest change in my makeup bag at this time of year is my lipstick/lipglosses so I have wriggled it down to my top 5 (there's one favourite that featured last year too).

Kate Moss 107 - £5.49
First up is the one you'll have heard the most about i'm sure. The colour is the perfect mix of berry and red, it's really up my street. It lasts forever on the lips, it's matte but isn't drying and it doesn't bleed like other bright lipsticks I own. I love this in the day, blotted into the lips for a more wearable look but it looks equally as nice wore fully applied from the bullet for a brighter, bolder look.

YSL - £25
The most expensive of the lot comes from YSL. I won't talk about this to much because i've reviewed it here. I love the application of this and the way it looks both after the first application and after the second, two minutes later. This lasts forever and is moisturising and glossy on the lips. It looks more like a lipgloss when it's first applied and then after a couple of hours it sinks in more to a lipstain.

Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry - £23
My newest addition and my first Charlotte Tilbury product. First of all, the packaging is just beautiful I mean talk about luxury. And the colour, this is what Winter dreams are made of. When I bought this, the mua applied it full on with a lip brush and the difference in the size and fullness of my lips was amazing. Even applying it straight out of the bullet achieves a fuller look so this is definitely worth the whole 23 English pounds I spent on it.

Rimmel Matte Apocolips - £6.99
A new drugstore launch I haven't heard about, I must be a busy bee. Anyway, on a recent trip to Boots I saw this on the shelves and added it to my basket. The colour is the perfect berry shade and it's pretty similar to the original Apocolips formulas except for its matte finish. The older range is pretty long lasting so you can imagine how long the matte range lasts for. This feels lovely on the lips which is weird for a matte lip and actually feels pretty moisturising, definitely keep an eye out for these.

Mac Rebel -£15
Another firm favourite of mine comes in the form of Mac Rebel. Similarly to Kate Moss 107, this looks beautiful both patted into the lips and worn boldly. This is more drying than 107 but it isn't anything too much, worn with a good lip balm applied before and you'll be fine.

Hull Blogger Tag Post

So way back when, my beautiful friend Alex from Champagne&Lemonadeox came up with the wonderful idea of creating a tag particularly for us Hull Bloggers. We each thought of a question each and then Alex put them together into a little post for us to blog about.

1) Charley - We all know Hull is the greatest place on earth, but if you didn't live there, where would you live?

I would definitely live somewhere that has a Sephora within walking distance. Somewhere like Paris, LA or Dubai.
2) Joanna - on average how many makeup products do you use per day?
I use on average between 8 and 10 products a day, including base, eyes, face and lips. Sometimes if i'm making an extra effort it could be up to about 15.
3) Kate - If you were given a plane ticket and told you can go absolutely anywhere in the world. Where would you go and why?
I'd go back to Florida but with different people this time. I love the whole atmosphere of Disney so id love to go back now i'm older and create even more lovely memories.
4) Lucy - what independent shop do you most like to visit in Hull?
I love Tessie's down Newland Avenue, it has some lovely bits and pieces. The jewellery is just beautiful.
5) Susan - What are the main differences between your makeup looks and choice of products in the summer and your looks in the winter?"
In summer my makeup is pretty fresh and light. I usually have a pink lipstick or lipgloss to match whereas in winter I have a much fuller coverage, smoky eyes and a dark berry lip.
6) Me - Where do you think is the best place to take outfit photos in Hull?
I don't take outfit photos of my blog anymore but there's a place round near Bankside in Town which has loads of graffiti on the wall, I think a photo would look really cool using that as a back drop.
7) Chloe - What makes Hull Unique?
I like the different styles you see in Hull, you can turn a corner and see someone inspired by the 70s, 80s or 90s and they pull it off so well.
8) Chelsea – Most repurchased beauty item?
My most purchased beauty item would have to be Space Girl bath bomb by Lush. I love it so much, the smell is beautiful and it makes me instantly relax.
9) Alex – What’s your favourite thing to do in Hull?
My most favourite thing to do in Hull is to go down Newland Avenue, have some lunch and drinks, have a little shopping time and then go to Boutique and get my nails done :)!
There you have it, my Hull bloggers tag post. I hope you enjoyed it and I cant wait to read the other girls responses xo
