Life and Blog Update || Where Have I Been!?

Hello, long time no blog; well that's certainly how it feels after not actually blogging for around 6 weeks. I've had my blog for nearly 2 years now and I've always been a regular blogger (with the occasional break) however since I started my first full time job I can honestly say blogging has gone out of the window.

I've been at my job for four weeks now and if you or anyone you know is a primary school teacher then you'll completely understand why I haven't had chance to blog. It's literally exhausting, getting up early everyday, teaching a class of 28 children for 6 hours a day and then planning, marking, assessing and resourcing for hours on end every night gets a little tiring to say the least. This being said, I am thoroughly enjoying my job. There's something special about going to work everyday and something different happening every hour, it's funny and emotional and well worth the hours and stress put in.

It's half term in four weeks (definitely not counting down) and i'm hoping I can squeeze in a blog post or two before then and then hopefully manage to get some posts ready for the run up to Christmas (12 weeks left, woohoo)! So instead of my regular 2/3 posts a week, i'm going to aim for at least 1 a week from now until Father Christmas comes.

Thank you for all my lovely readers who have stuck by my little blog, it means so much to me. I'm going to try and get back on the wagon so hopefully it'll be worth the wait and my little space on the internet will be back in business, wish me luck!

Lush Think Pink Bath Ballistic || Review

Lush Think Pink Bath Ballistic Lush Think Pink Bath Ballistic
Lush Think Pink Bath Ballistic
Hello delicious bath bomb, I've been loving you for such a long time. I'm a big fan of Lush and I always like to try different bath ballistic whenever I go in, I've seen this on instagram a lot so I decided to splurge the whole £2.50 and buy this.

I love the colour and design of this, the colour is super girly and the flowers add a lovely touch. I love that it makes your bath a lovely pink colour and the flowers dissolve into the water too. What I found different with this bath ballistic is that it dissolved much quicker than other bath ballistics I've tried. I was really happy with that because I don't like the thought of getting in the bath with a half fizzy half dissolved bath bomb floating around.

Another lovely addition is that inside the bath ballistic there are blue, pink and purple rice paper hearts; however they are a bit of pain to get rid of once you've finished in the bath. I would definitely recommend this as a gift for your partner or someone you love :)! The scent isn't too in your face, it has hints of vanilla in which adds to the relaxing atmosphere and it doesn't hang around after the water has drained. It also gets bonus points for not leaving any glitter as there is nothing worse then having to scrub glitter from your bath after a relaxing soak.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks || Review and Swatches

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstains in Pink Pong, Ole Flamingo, Hot Pepper and Frambourjoise Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstains in Pink Pong, Ole Flamingo, Hot Pepper and Frambourjoise Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstains in Pink Pong, Ole Flamingo, Hot Pepper and Frambourjoise Swatches
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks - £8.99

And the award for the most raved about beauty release of the year goes too... Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks. If you haven't seen/heard/tried these then you must live under a rock, literally everyone has heard their opinion about these. Mine is similar to so many other beauty bloggers out there and i'm head over heels with them.

I currently have four out of the eight shades, most of mine being bright shades and the other four are more muted neutrals. I have the shades in Pink Pong (bright pink, second swatch from the bottom), Ole Flamingo (reddish, pink, bottom swatch), Hot Pepper (a bright red, second swatch from the top) and Frambourjoise (a darkish pink, first swatch). Pink Pong and Ole Flamingo are quite similar in the bullets but look differently on the lips honestly.

These lipsticks apply like a dream, I tend to apply this like my YSL Glossy Stain (reviewed here), apply one coat and then wait a couple of minutes before applying a second just to make sure I have a clean, opaque covering. Sometimes, more so with the red, I find that you can get a thick outline on your upper lip if you try and apply this too neatly so id definitely recommend using a lip liner with these to neaten them up.

That being said, once these are on they are on! I've applied all of these shades at about 8 in the morning and there are still there, bold as brass at six o clock. You can eat drink and be merry with these bad boys and they aren't going any where. I find Pink Pong to be the most long lasting and Frambourjoise being the least but that still lasts longer than any other lipstick I own.

For £8.99 these are definitely great value for money. They have lots of shades that suit most skin tones and perfect for so many occasions. They stay in place all day so you don't have to worry about touch ups and they remain as bright after a long day at work as they did when you first applied them. I'll definitely be adding more to my collection because they are just such good lipsticks!

Beauty Battle #08 || Nail Varnish

NYC Nail Varnish, Models Own Hyper Gel and Illamasqua Nail Varnish

Nyc In a New York Minute in Lavender Blossom, £1.79 - Models Own HyperGel in Lilac Sheen, £5Illamasqua Nail Polish in Faux Pas, £14.50

Another Beauty Battle today, can you believe it's the eighth one? I'm coming at you with nail varnishes this time, I've chosen three differently priced products all the same colour ish just to give you an idea of whether you should splurge or save.

First up, the cheapest option is the NYC offering. I can find NYC in my local Superdrug but I know it's quite hard to find for some people however, I would thoroughly recommend you keep an eye out because their nail varnish formula is amazing. This literally lasts on my nails for 5-7 days without chipping and my nails normally chip the same day I apply it. The colour range is amazing, as the name suggests they dry quickly and best of all, they are £1.79. I have lots of colours from this range and honestly I have to see it's my favourite brand for nail polishes, even beating Essie!

Next up is the ever popular Models Own, but this is from their Hyper Gel range. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the range, some of the shades I love some I don't. This is one I love but unfortunately I find it chips easily on me. I also aren't a big fan of the formula, this takes 2-3 coats to look slightly opaque. I really love the colour though, I just don't like the work that comes with it.

Finally we have the most expensive Nail Polish I own and this comes from the beautiful Charlotte who included this in a box swap we did. The colour is a deep purple and this is pretty much opaque in one coat, I like to do two just to be sure. It also dries slightly matt which is something I really like, you can always add a glossy top coat (seche vite will do the job). This isn't as long lasting as the NYC version but more so then Models Own which is impressive with my nails.

Overall, cheapest wins this month hands down. The price is enough to persuade anyone to try them but honestly you'll love them, definitely need more hype around them. If you cant stray from higher end brands then Illamasqua's offering it pretty darn good, if not a little over priced. Finally, Models Own are a close third, if you change your nail polish regularly then these are for you but if you're in it for the long haul, don't waste you ££.
