Beauty Battle #07 || Barbie Pink Lipstick

Beauty Battle #07 || Barbie Pink Lipstick Beauty Battle #07 || Barbie Pink Lipstick Illamasqua Immodest Lipstick Mac Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick Collection Pink Shock Lipstick Beauty Battle #07 || Barbie Pink Lipstick Swatches
Illamasqua Lipstick in Immodest £18.50, Mac Lipstick in Viva Glam Nicki £15 and Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in Pink Shock £2.99 (swatches in that order)

The beauty battle post for July features bright, shocking pink lipsticks. In the summer months I love nothing more than a bright pink lipstick to add some colour to any outfit. I find that with a shocking pink lip the rest of your makeup doesn't really matter because your lipstick is doing all the talking.
First up we'll start with the most expensive, Illamasqua's lipstick in Immodest. On the website, this is described as a vivid pink and that's exactly what it is. It looks much more shocking in the bullet then it does on the lips but that doesn't mean it's not bright trust me it is! The finish of this is extremely matt, to the point were I actually find this un wearable unless I've been pampering my lips day and night for a week. I was really gutted about this because I love the shade, it's so perfect but unfortunately it really is too drying. Because of this I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone, especially for £18.50. I actually featured this as my most disappointing product in the Lip Product Addict Tag.
Moving on to a less expensive but still pretty pricey Mac lipstick. Yes we all love a Mac lipstick and when they do collaborations i'm all over it. I bought this lipstick before I went on holiday last year (you can read about it in my mac lipstick collection post) which made it slightly cheaper at duty free. This is a more wearable, everyday shade than the other two but that doesn't mean it's any less bright. Unlike the Illamasaqua lippie, this one looks brighter on the lips than it does in the bullet. Viva Glam Nicki is a satin finish which is one of my favourites. It's kind of a semi matt that stays put but isn't drying at all, completely different to Immodest.
Finally, the cheapest of the three and definitely my favourite shade is Pink Shock by Collection. I've had this lipstick for so long and the colour is so amazing, the swatches do not do it justice. It's literally the brightest think I've ever seen. I think I have an instagram of me wearing it if you want to check it out (studentstylexo). This is a mix between a matt and a satin finish, again it lasts all day and the colour does not fade! Sometimes, especially in the winter this can get slightly drying and make your lips a little flaky but if you exfoliate and moisturise your lips before you will be absolutely fine, unlike with Immodest. I can't believe I haven't picked any more colours up in this range but for £2.99 I highly recommend them.
Cheapest wins for me this time, hands down. The colour pay off, the longevity and the overall feel on the lips is 10x better than the most expensive offering from Illamasqua. Whilst I love Viva Glam Nicki it just isn't as striking as the other two shades but I still much prefer it to Immodest. If you're looking for a shocking Barbie pink ladies then get yourself down to a Collection stand pronto.
