Top 5 High End Makeup Picks - Guest Post

Hi lovelies! I'm Charlotte from Surely Char and this is my first ever collaboration post, featuring my top 5 high end make up products.

First up is Benefit Boi-ing. This is one of the first high end products I ever bought, and have continued to repurchase time and time again. Boi-ing is a staple in my make up bag, as it covers blemishes, redness and dark circles. The lightest shade is perfect for me because I'm quite pale and I sometimes find that concealers can be too dark. I really like the consistency of this product and it lasts for ages! As it comes in a pot, you can make sure you get every last bit out using a concealer brush. I love it.

Next on my list is Nars Sheer Glow. I absolutely rave about this foundation. I know some people don't like that it doesn't come with a pump but I really don't mind - I just pour a little onto the back of my hand and get to work! I tend to use my fingers to apply this, as I found that I was using more product when using brushes. At high end prices you don't want to be using more than you need :) I tap the foundation onto my face as I think it really helps to work the product into the skin and blends it really well. I never thought that a foundation with a name like 'Sheer Glow' would be any good for my combination/oily, acne prone skin but it really is the best I've ever tried. It gives amazing coverage and I often go without concealer on blemishes when I've used this foundation - that's how good this is!

The next product on my list is one I discovered when I had some false lashes applied at Shu Uemura. The MUA used their liquid eyeliner to fill in the tiny gaps left when she had finished. This product is a bit like a felt tip eyeliner but with a finer point, making it super easy to apply. It's really easy to handle and has really helped me get to grips with liquid eyeliner again! I sometimes use this to draw out the shape I want for my liner, then go over with a gel liner for a really dramatic finish. The other thing I like about this pen is that it's refillable - you just buy new cartridges when you need them. I think the cosmetics industry encourages lots of waste so I like that this can be reused :)

This next item is an absolute must have for me. The Nars blusher. This award winning blush is available in a multitude of highly pigmented colours and varied finishes. One thing I've learnt is that natural hair make up brushes are best for picking up the pigment in powder products, so I always use my Bobbi Brown blush brush when applying mine. These fab blushers are really simple to apply and there's shades to suit all skin types. My current favourite is Douceur (pictured below) as it works with every make up look, whether it's a simple no-make-up make up look or if you're going all out with eyes or lips - this colour is perfect.

Last but not least is YSL La Laque Couture nail lacquer. This is genuinely the most long lasting, glossiest finish, easy to apply, nail polish I have ever had the pleasure of using. I love Rose Futuriste (pictured below) which is a gorgeous true fuchsia colour. It makes me feel amazingly glamorous and sophisticated when I wear it and I've never smudged it when applying (which says a lot as I can be pretty rubbish at painting my own nails)! Everything about this product feels really special and that's why it just had to be part of my top 5.

Thanks Megan for letting me feature on your blog! I really hope you've enjoyed reading my top 5 high end make up picks :)
