MT Dermaroller - A New Addition To My Skin Care || Review

DSCF2518

Slightly different post for you today but one that I'm hoping will excite those of you who fancy being a little bit adventurous with your skin care. I was approached by the people from Dermaroller about reviewing one of their products and I was instantly intrigued. The thought of running 200, 1.0mm needles over my face and body scared me slightly but also made me want to try it.

After a few emails were exchanged, I decided to try the 1.0mm needle as I have some strech marks around my thighs and this seemed like the best option for me. The Dermaroller works by jump starting the skins natural healing process, tiny little pinprick holes are created when using this, which open up the skins pores and begins the healing process. Makes sense right?
I used this after I got out of the shower, it's important to cleanse first to make sure the skin is clear and fresh. The instructions advise you to roll the dermaroller 10 times vertically, then 10 times horizontally and finally 10 times diagonally in both directions. Afterwards, I applied some Bio oil to the area and felt my skin literally drink it up!

The whole process lasts around 20 minutes and I must admit at times it can feel pretty uncomfortable, but not necessarily painful. I will warn you though that your skin is left looking pretty darn red, so be warned if you want to use the dermaroller on your face! After my first treatment, I haven't really noticed that much of a difference however that is because visible changes may take a few weeks to occur (I will keep you posted). The Dermaroller should be used once every three weeks and I'm going to continue to do this to see if it makes any difference to my stretch marks. I have high hopes that it will so fingers crossed!

The lovely Kaia also included four huge face masks in my parcel to which was such a nice thing to do. I haven't tried any of them yet but i'm really excited to use them. You can also buy them from the Dermaroller shop too! These look really relaxing and I love that they are designed for certain days of the week and to help you deal with the stresses of the week.

Overall, I'm really excited that I got to try this product as I would never think to buy or try anything like this. I really hope it makes a difference as stretch marks can really affecting my confidence at times.

Have you tried anything like this before? Do you have any remedies for stretch marks?

  1. This sounds so interesting! I went to watch Jeremy Kyle live once (random, but bear with me lol) and they used one of these on somebody live on stage and it's interested me every since but I always assumed they'd be really expensive or have to be used in a salon! I have stretch marks too so I'm certainly intrigued to hear how this works for you and whether you think it's worth getting one x
