My Next Perfume Collection

DSCF2466

Everybody loves perfume right? I certainly do but on a student budget my pennies can't quite stretch to the ever popular designer scents like Mark Jacob and Jo Malone. So I've settled for owning lots of cheaper perfumes which smell equally as nice but cost a fraction of the price.

My collection is rather large but I always seem to have a variety of Next perfumes on the go. These perfumes are super cheap and I usually receive these as stocking fillers at Christmas so I thought I would share with you my favourites in time for your Christmas shopping.

This scent is the most 'manliest' of the three but I mean that in a good way, trust me! This is a gorgeous, musky scent that lasts all day. It's the most sophisticated out of the three so I wouldn't buy this for younger girls. The packaging is really simple and elegant, but it's also sturdy enough to leave in your handbag. I definitely hope that this appears in my Christmas presents this year.

DSCF2468

Probably the most well known Next perfume is Just Pink. This has made an appearance in my stocking for so many years now. The nice thing about this perfume is that the packaging changes slightly each year, this has to be my favourite so far. This is a floral scent that lingers for so long. It's very sweet and girly but quite sophisticated too. You can also find gift sets of this which makes the perfect Christmas Presents.

DSCF2469
Miss N Seduce

Unfortunately I don't think Next still sell this perfume which is a shame as i've nearly ran out but they do have a lot of other scents to choose. The packaging of this is quite young looking, perfect for teenage girls. This smells quite 'sexy' as the name suggests but not to overwhelming. I tend to wear this more at night rather than during the day although that's just my personal preference.

Have you tried any of the Next perfumes?

I'm A Beauty Blogger Get Me Out Of Here || TAG

I'm sure most of you watched the first episode of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. In honor of that, next-route-style.blogspot.co.uk created the I'm A Beauty Blogger Get Me Out Of Here which I was kindly tagged in by Charlotte. I think there is going to be a new set of questions for each week I'm a Celeb is on so keep your eyes peeled...

1) You can only take ONE product into the jungle (aka your luxury item). What would you choose and why?

Err, I think I would have to take in my Simple cleanser just for the simple fact that I would hate any jungle nasties on my face. I'd also try and sneak in some mascara or concealer to try and make myself look presentable.

2) What would be your main pre jungle worry?

Definitely the creepy crawlers! I'm not really the outdoorsy type either so I wouldn't particularly enjoy that either.

3) You only have five minutes to get ready before going into the jungle, what would be your quick beauty routine?

A SPF for sure! Followed by a long lasting foundation, some concealer, a dash of mascara and a tinted lip balm maybe.

4) Last year we saw Helen Flanagan wearing her hair in a top bun. What would be your signature hairstyle?

I'm afraid I would have to copy Helen. It's just so easy and fuss free. It's also really good at stopping the sun from burning your scalp and looks good on freshly washed and day old hair.

5) For moral support, which female celebrity would you like to be in the jungle with you?

Hmm, this is a hard one. I like Angelina Jolie would be pretty bad ass and I don't think she'd be scared of insects but I'd probably say Beyonce! I just love her.

6) Everyone’s given a role in the camp. What lifestyle skill would you bring to the jungle?

I feel like i'm definitely the wrong person to ask about this! My family would tell you exactly how useless I am! I am a good listener though, so i'd probably be the one giving advice rather than cooking and cleaning.

7) What one thing about being a beauty blogger sometimes makes you want to scream ‘Get Me Out Of Here’?

Definitely the cost ha! Being faced with haul and wishlist posts daily is so tough for my will power. There are a least 5 things that I want need daily.

8) Challenge – This is a once in a life time opportunity. You’re up for a trial to face your fears or try something new, what would you choose to do and why?

I would love to jump out of a plane. I would love to do this before I die anyway but if I was in the jungle I would be first
there for it.

Let me know if you do this tag, I'd love to see it

Seventeen Primer Foundation & Concealer || Review

DSCF2479

I'm sure you're all aware of how good Seventeen are doing at the minute in regards to brilliant, budget, beauty products but I decided to share the love anyway. I took advantage of the 3 for £10 on Seventeen products a while back and saved myself a whole £8.47 wahoo (Boots have a 3 for 2 on cosmetics so check them out for a bargain)! I decided to by the Flawless, Poreless Primer, On the Spot Foundation & the Phwoarr Paint Concealer. I'm pretty darn impressed if i'm honest, two of them have definitely made their way in to my daily makeup routine.

DSCF2480

I picked this up after reading a few reviews and as my skin was particularly bad that day I thought i'd give it a go. I got the lightest shade 'soft ivory' which is a good match for a drugstore foundation and my skin. I really like the packaging, when you take the lid off there's a pump underneath (thankfully). This says that it helps to clear skin, although it hasn't done that for me, it is a nice foundation. I'd say the coverage is about medium to high when applied with a buffing brush. I've tried applying this with my fingers and a stippling brush and both give less coverage but still enough. This lasting power of this is also pretty good for £6.99, perfect for a day at school or a morning at work. It doesn't cling to dry patches either so i'm really happy with this considering the cheap price.

DSCF2481

This is definitely my favourite product out of the three, it's amazing. I'm sure you've all read lots of reviews of this already but I really believes it deserves all the hype it's getting. The name indicates how heavy duty this concealer is going to be and it's right. When you first use this it's quite hard and can be a bit tricky to work with but that soon goes away. I apply this under my eyes and to blemishes with my finger and then blend with a brush. The coverage is full but not cakey. It also doesn't crease which I really thought it would if i'm honest. Weirdly, I find that it brightens all the right areas like under the eyes but doesn't bring attention to blemishes so it's a really perfect concealer. I would definitely recommend this for £5.49!

DSCF2482

Finally, the primer. You might be wondering why I bought a new primer if you've read my rave review of the MUA Fashionista primer but i'm a blogger, what can I say. This however, i;m slightly disappointed with. I've never tried a solid primer before so I was intrigued but I just find this hard to work with. You can't really tell how much/little of your face is covered as it's a clear, hard consistency which disappears as soon as it touches the skin. I will give this another go as I really want to like it. I think it would be perfect to use on the cheeks to help pores as that's what it says it does. Let me know if you've tried this and what you thought.

What is your favourite Seventeen product?

Latest in Beauty - The Glamour Beauty Edit Review

DSCF2445

DSCF2448

This is my first every beauty box and boy am I impressed!? My lovely boyfriend actually ordered this for me after listening to me bang on about if for so long so it was a really lovely surprise to see this on the door mat!

DSCF2449

This box came just at the right time for me as I was running out of a lot of these things and I really wanted to try the majority of this box. I was super excited about the hair products as i've ran out of hairspray. I also need some new eyelash curlers as my old ones are getting a little old.

DSCF2451

I love Toni and Guy products so I was excited to receive this in the box. I've never tried this but the leaflet says that it keeps hair in place without stickiness or dullness which is perfect. I also really like the packaging, it looks lovely on my dressing table. I've never tried anything from Philip Kingsley but i've heard a lot about them. I love dry shampoo as it saves so much time but also adds a bit of texture to your hair so i'm excited to try this. This also claims to leave your hair super shiny and soft.

DSCF2452

I would probably say I was most excited about this product. For all those who don't know, I have a weird obsession with eyebrows (you can see my post on them here) so this is the perfect beauty product for me. I received the shade Foxy which suits me brilliantly. I haven't used this properly yet but i'll do a review asap. I think i'm going to do a big review of a couple of different eyebrow powders soon.

DSCF2453

I have pretty long eyelashes really but I find that they don't have that desired curl so I was very excited to try these. I love the packaging and the curlers themselves feel so expensive.  The blue velvet pads are gorgeous and make them really easy to use. I haven't give these a good go yet but I can't wait to try them. These are limited edition so get them whilst you can!

DSCF2454

I'm not hugely experienced with face oils so this is a good chance to try one out. I have the Nspa face oil and like it but I don't really think it does a lot for my skin so i'm dubious to see what this does. I like the packaging as it's a rollerball which I think it will be really easy to use. I've had a few Balance Me products before and really enjoyed them so I hope this will be the same.

DSCF2455

Finally, some makeup bits and bobs. Both of these i've tried before. I have a mini bottle of They're Real and really enjoy it so i'm super glad I don't have to spend £19.50 on buying one. I've also got two Maybelline Baby Lips so i'm not overly bothered by this as I don't really rate them. Although I'm sure this will be handy to through in my bag during the colder months.

Have you got this beauty box? Which beauty box do you subscribe too?

Boots Gift Guide - For Him

I know my last post was a Boots gift guide for woman but it went down so well that I thought i'd get straight onto it and do a For Men Post in time for all those eager shoppers.

for him
01//02//03//04//05//06

01/Clapper Board Alarm Clock
You can't go wrong with an alarm clock for the man in your life and I love how different this one is. This is perfect for movie fans too and because of the black colour, it won't look out of place in most bedrooms. At £18, this is a real bargain!

02/ Segway Rally Gift Experience
This is amazing! Perfect for those fun loving, outdoorsy types. At £74 this would definitely be a main present but I think it's such a fun, lovely idea. You could always make this into a weekend away to so you kind of get a present as well ha!

03/Invictus Gift Set
Aftershave is also a fail safe present idea and at Christmas time there's always some brilliant gift sets. I chose invictus as I know my boyfriend wants it but there are lots of different ones on the Boots website for around £39. I also really like the gift box as it's great for storage, my boyfriend uses his to keep his watches in.

04/ Soap & Glory for men Groom and Go
Just like in my womens gift guide, Soap and Glory is a firm Christmas favourite. This is the first year that i've seen a range for men and i'm really intrigued. My boyfriend is forever stealing my shower gel so this is perfect for him. It's also a bargain at £16 as it contains 5 products. There are also lots of different sets so you can find the perfect one for whoever you are buying for.

05/Classic Leather Wallet
A leather wallet is the perfect accessory for any man. They use them everyday and can last for so long. I like how classic this one is, so it's perfect for dads or work colleges. If you have younger brothers or friends then you can find a great range of wallets at River Island which are a bit more young and fun.

06//Philips 3 in 1 Razor
Again, another classic gift. But I really don't think you can go wrong with something useful. Most men forget about buying these important things so it's really nice for them to have something they need. This is another gift that is more on the expensive side at £74.99 but definitely worth it.

I hope this helps some of you, i'm also thinking of doing a gift guide for men that isn't focused on Boots if you would like to see that?

Boots Gift Guide - For Her

With Christmas coming I've decided to do a little series of posts sharing some gift ideas for him and for her. The first one i've created is all things for her from Boots. I love shopping at Boots around Christmas time for the simple fact that 3 for 2 is a life saver!

Gift Guide01//02//03//04//05//06

01// Ted Baker Cosmetics Set
This is the perfect gift for any makeup lover! My mum had actually bought me this for Christmas as last week it was Boot's Offer Of The Week. This includes brushes, nail varnishes, eyelashes, lip crayons and more! The packaging is so cute and girly that it's perfect for all ages. I got this for £19 but I think it's now £40.

02// Accesorize Kindle Cover
How cute is this!? I love anything floral and with the inclusion of polka dots i'm sold. I think Kindle covers are the perfect girly gadget, especially if you know someone is getting a kindle already. At £20, it is quite pricey but as it's part of the 3 for 2 Christmas gift sets it's pretty darn good.

03// No7 Illuminating Mirror
I love this mirror, I think it's the perfect gift for any beauty lover and I know that i'd love to receive this. It would look gorgeous on a dressing table and would come in really handy for those dark, winter mornings. This is also reduced to £19.99 so get it while you can!

04// James Brown Fabulous Hair Gift Set
I don't think i've ever had a Christmas were I haven't received a hair care gift set! I love the packaging of this, it's so different. This would make the perfect stocking filler or secret santa present. At £20 it contains everything you need to have the best hair day ever!

05// Microwavable Owl
We all have that person in our life who loves being warm and snuggly. This gorgeous owl teddy is perfect for them. Not only is it cute and cuddly but it's also microwavable meaning that you can always be warm! This is perfect for all ages, I know little girls that would love this like my niece but my older sister would also love it just as much.

06// Soap & Glory Lovely Bubbly Set
Ah Soap & Glory! Who doesn't love a Soap & Glory Christmas set. I chose this gift set as I think it has the perfect products for beginners but it also has the classics for those who have been a lover for years. It's only £10 so again perfect for a Secret Santa present.

Have you started your shopping yet? Would you like to see more shop related guides or ideas from lots of shops?

My Inspirations - Blogger Edition

A few weeks ago for Sunday's #bbloggers chat on twitter the topic was 'Sharing the Blog Love' so after being inspired by that little hour I decided to create a post sharing with you my top 6 blogs. I've moved over to the beauty side of blogging recently so some of my favourite bloggers are different but these are the 6 girls that I go to when I want to read a review or see what they have been buying.

 Fashion Train

The first blog I ever read was the lovely Becca at Fashion Train. I think Becca inspired me to start my own blog as I loved what she was doing over at Fashion Train. I remember when I first found her blog, I spent hours scrolling through all of her posts and falling in love with her style and fashion sense. When I first started my blog I focused on fashion, however I now focus on beauty but I still read Fashion Train and probably always will.

The Sunday Girl

Next is a blog which i'm sure you are all familiar with, The Sunday Girl. Ran by the lovely Adrienne, The Sunday Girl is my go to place before buying the majority of beauty products. She literally is my beauty bible, and reviews a mixture of high end and drug store products which makes her the perfect blogger for everyone! I also love how organised her blog is, it's so simple yet effective.

Rosy Chic

Another blog i've been following forever is Rosy Chic it's the cutest, girliest blog EVER! Literally, Andrea's photography is mind blowing, she makes every single product look amazing which isn't so great for my bank balance. I challenge anyone to go over to her blog and not fall in love. She does a lovely range of reviews, hauls and lifestyle posts which I love, I can't wait to read her thought's whenever a post pops up.

Birds Words

Beth who blogs at Bird's Words does the best swatches, hands down. If you want to see what a product looks like then this is the place to be. Again her photography is insane and makes everything look like I need it straight away. She has a good mixture of high end and drug store products and I really trust her opinions.

Couture Girl

Kayleigh does the most amazing drug store reviews you can find, I literally want everything she reviews. Couture Girl is the perfect place to go for drug store recommendations but she also shares personal posts too which are relatable for so many people. I love the layout of Couture Girl because it's so easy to read.

That's Peachy

Finally, Tor from That's Peachy has been one of my favourite bloggers for so long. I love her sense of style and the clothes she wears. I'm also really loving her Youtube channel and get excited when I see a new video! She  has a brilliant mixture of beauty and fashion and I love reading both types of posts as I really trust what she says :)!

Who are you favourite bloggers/blogs? Do you follow these girls?

October Favourites

DSCF2433
Mac Wedge, Mua Flawless Primer, Mua Create Your Own 'Blusher' Palette, Avon Mega Effects Mascara, Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, Lush Tea Tree Toner Water & Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer.

Instead of the generic 'can't believe how fast this month has gone' opening sentence I'm going to start by saying 'there's only one more favourites post before Christmas'!! This is as scary as it is exciting mainly due to the assignments due in before Christmas :(!

DSCF2434

I never quite understood a toner before but this is amazing. I think the tea tree ingredient in this is doing wonders for my skin. The smell of it is so refreshing, it's perfect for using as a toner or for spraying during the day for a quick refresh. I will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out.

DSCF2435

Who doesn't love blusher? Getting four beautiful shades in one palette is amazing, especially as I do so much travelling. The best thing about this is that you can chose your own shades meaning your palette is individual to you. My favourite shade is London and Cinnamon is lovely for Autumn Winter too.

I've had this lip scrub for so long now but I just always forget about it. Now that the weathers getting colder my lips seem to dry out and get chapped so easily, so I use this every other morning before I apply my lipstick to exfoliate the lips and get rid of any dry skin. I also think it helps when applying your lipstick as it's a smoother base and I find my lipstick stays on longer too.

This is something I featured in my October beauty haul and i've also done a review of it here so I won't go on about it but basically this is a absolute bargain of a primer. It smoothes the skin and creates a perfect base for your foundation to glide on and then cling too. Honestly, I cannot recommend this enough.

Again, this is another product i've reviewed before but I felt I needed to include this in my favourites as i've used it every day this month. It's the perfect size to fit in your handbag and it's so easy and simple to use yet it gives great results. I've had so many compliments on this.

Finally, I thought i'd include these two products together as I use them together and think they work incredibly alongside each other. I've done a post on my eyebrow routine featuring these two products but i've been loving the look they give to my brows. The concealer works amazingly to define the brow shape whereas the eyeshadow perfectly shades and fills in the brows.

What have you been loving this month?
